UM-HEAD OF INDIAN STUDIES ISSUE

what the sole Indian minister has to say ;-
UM promised to resolve Indian Studies Dept issue
Dr S Subramaniam Jul 6, 09 7:52pm
This is in response to news reports in the local Tamil dailies today which mentioned that the head of the Indian Studies Department in University Malaya, Dr S Kumaran has been replaced by a non-Indian from the same university.I agree that the appointment of a non-Indian to the post has created uneasiness and unhappiness among the Indian community.I have spoken to the vice-chancellor of University Malaya Ghauth Jasmon today and requested that a suitable Indian lecturer be appointed to the post.Ghauth has agreed to resolve the issue as soon as possible.Ghauth told me that Dr Kumaran's replacement was an administrative issue but he promised to look into my request seriously.I am happy with the assurance given by Ghauth that the matter would be resolved quickly.I attribute the problem to the lack of cooperation among the teaching faculty of the department.Dr S Subramaniam is the Human Resources Minister and the MIC secretary-general.

The termination of Dr. S Kumaran was unjustified. Internal Investigation should have been done thoroughly before the termination took place. This termination only caused embarassement for Dr. S. Kumaran who servd his best for the Indian Studies Dept. The 'problem makers' should have been dealt with instead of taking their complains way too far by terminating the leader who wants nothing but the bst to serve his community.Tamil is the air that Dr. S. Kumaran breathes in, the food that he consumes, his wife n children comes next to his work...believe me..i know him personally. The people who knew him was shocked by the cruel termination of him. Please take note here that the lecturer of the Indian studies Manimaran has no credit in his BM but yet became a lecturer there because the manipulation of certificate by Sababathy n Rajendran. These three are the problem makers who wished to be in the top post though has no credibility as leaders. They bring shame to the indian community. Im ashamed to say there are these sort of educated culprits among our indian community. They are educating the new generation when they themselves need spanking in the butt to behave. How can crooked people like this going to educate our new generation to think straight! An embarassement situation and need to be lookd into! Terminate them before they spread like virus!
